Picture a 3 storey terrace home in Darlington with a small back yard. Well Barry was obsessive on weekends about repairs around the home and making things out of wood. This balanced his office work during weekdays. Previously in their suburban home they had a garage where he kept his garden tools and a garden shed that was his ‘den’ but now in the inner city the backyard shed was perfect for the terrace home. What’s more he had pulled it apart in the old place and re-assembled it in the new home. It just fit in nicely and he had it set up with all his tools. When he was there the family knew to leave him alone for his much needed space.

Old and new workshops
I saw this photo of a quaint workshop and the thought crossed my mind about how much change there has been in the makeup of workshops nowadays. You can DIY a workshop which is made out of steel and therefore waterproof and weatherproof. Windows and shelving can be installed in these workshops and there are slab floorings. And they come in different colours too. What more can you ask for?

Spring is here
I remember when I was in Primary School how at end August we would go to Granville Pool for Spring swimming. It was hot then and that’s how we knew that Spring had arrived. Now it’s the beginning of September and Spring is here but it is cold and I can’t imagine kids going on swimming excursions. This is clearly an indication of how our seasons have changed. I guess the only indicators of Spring are the blooming flowers in our gardens.

Back to basics with a garden shed
The Wayside Chapel put out a call for a piece of land where homeless people could be taught to grow their own gardens. I started thinking that this is also needed for a lot of young people in families. To be a part of planning and caring for a garden is quite simple. It is a great project for families because it’s about going back to basics and learning to grow vegetables, especially organically which are very expensive.
The whole family is able to spend time together and enjoy the fruits of their labour. Having a garden shed assembled or even DIY and storing the tools and equipment teaches young people about responsible behaviour. Another benefit to this is that they become productive.

Backyard greenhouse
I am sitting in my lounge room with the heater on full, rugged up in a thick lined cardigan and gloves without finger tips (Michael Jackson eat your heart out). It occurred to me that there are plants which would not survive out in this freezing cold. Mind you it’s not snowing, that could be worse, in which case there are snow greenhouses just for that purpose. I’ll write about snow greenhouses another time. This time I am thinking about fresh herbs which are becoming more and more popular when cooking.

Garden shed with a reputation
Now that you are looking for a garden shed, be sure that you get one that has a reputation. A garden shed with a reputation that reaches even overseas shows a leader in the field. Go to the garden sheds shown with the dealers on this site and see how sturdy and weatherproof they are. They are DIY or you can have them assembled for you at an affordable price. They come in different colours and with a warranty too.

Garden shed for art and craft
Have you got kids who love to express themselves through art and craft – it’s not only a healthy past time but also allows for maintaining sanity of the family? At least that’s what I found. The only problem is that it can sure get messy and what they are working on may not be finished by bath-time and bedtime. Leaving the unfinished art as is only means that it’s hard to clean around it and the home looks untidy. The ideal solution is to have a garden shed for art and craft. A couple of windows can make it airy with enough light and when not used the doors can be locked for the ‘artists’ to return to their masterpieces at a later date.

Garden shed for apartments
Living in an apartment is convenient. You have enough living space, landscaped gardens with even a swimming pool and perhaps a gym which are maintained. You don’t need to cut the grass nor attend to the garden. However, what is needed is space for storage. Get a garden shed for apartments that is installed in your garage. These slim yet tall sheds save space and keep your garage neat whilst storing many things.
Have the shed assembled at a reasonable cost or DIY. Your garage accommodates the car as well as a shed for storage.
Check the dealers here for more information.

There’s a garden shed with a Flat Roof which comes in a smooth cream colour and looks cool. It’s waterproof because of its wrap around corners. Ideal for storing your bikes, garden equipment and valuable tools. You can DIY or have it installed for you. What’s important is that you can lock your things up too.
You can have customised shelves fitted and a slab flooring that is an inexpensive alternative to concrete flooring.
Check it out with any of the dealers on this page and see the price and sizes that suite you.
