A shed for jam sessions

Drummer, photo by Dominic Morel, Knysna, South Africa, a gig When your kids plan to become famous musicians and they practise with their band members every night, you need some relief. A garden shed that has been made soundproof can be the ideal space for them to jam as often as they want and until they sound good. Such a shed is easy to assemble and affordable. Also waterproof, such shed can withstand strong winds, so it is worth the money. The slab flooring protects the equipment left in there, as does the lock-up feature.

Harry showed a strong interest in getting his mates together and forming a band. They hoped to be booked for weddings and parties. Their music showed promise but his mother couldn’t bear the noise any more. So together with his father and mates they assembled a workshop in the backyard and made it soundproof. They figured that it would probably take a good six months before they were ready but at least now they could play stuff over and over until they got it right without disturbing the rest of the family or the neighbours. Their equipment was safe because it is a lock-up shed.

Check it out and find one of these sheds that suits you and you can DIY or have it assembled.

I am interested in setting up a shed for my son’s drumming & band practice. It would need to be insulated and able to be soundproofed as much as possible. Waterproofing is also important as damp can warp the instruments, it would also need have some windows & ventilation so it is comfortable for jam sessions. Am I dreaming?
