Workshop green, photo by Treco, It was good to be recognised in The Blogger’s Garden about our post on the importance of Australian made sheds. Another important selection criteria for the appropriate shed is that you get one with a long warranty which shows that the manufacturer believes in their product and so can you.

You get free measure and quote in most cases and it can be DIY or they will assemble the shed for you.

Toy Shed

Yellow bicycle 1, photo by Tolgar Kelleci, Istanbul Turkey, kids dream Have you noticed how many toys children have nowadays - heaps. So to avoid a house cluttered with toys get a small garden shed where you can keep the toys. This means it’s much safer for all concerned and neat too. Also a good way to teach children to store their things away when they’ve finished, which is harder to do in the house.

Julie and Fred have three kids and it can be a madhouse. Their medium size home suits them nicely and better still is the small garden shed that her husband installed as a toy shed. Fred uses the garage as his workshop because he loves fixing cars, so it’s out of bounds for everyone else. The house needs to be relatively neat for enjoying a sane family life, safe without tripping over toys. Therefore the toy shed provides the answer because the kids love it and playing in their backyard or on the verandah, so do their friends. At the end of the day everyone clears all the toys and stores them in the lockup shed.

These sheds come in different colours to choose from and look attractive in your backyard, what’s more a shed like this is weatherproof and can have a concrete slab flooring. You can DIY or have it assembled for you.

Australian made garden sheds

World Map, photo by Brian S, Jakarta, Indonesia, worldwide demandWhen you are looking for good quality and efficient products an indicator of this is quite often when garden sheds are Australian made. This means our conditions are taken into account by the manufacturers. Another important point  is how compatible the product is for a worldwide market and therefore how much in demand it is outside Australia.

These are all important criteria when you shop for your garden sheds and it doesn’t take much researching to find the garden sheds that will suit your budget and your home.

Also keep in mind that your sheds need to be weatherproof and easy to assemble whether it’s DIY or installed by the shed dealer.

Best choice pool filter cover

Pool Filter CoverToday I will give you some more information about the best choice pool filter cover. I found this photo which shows what you can expect it to look like. Apart from the full width mesh back with ventilation for safety other important features are a hinged lid and double hinged doors for easy accessibility.

This pool filter cover in particular comes in two different colours - mist green or wheat.  For some people the colour is just as important as the style.

Check it out and see.

Pool maintenance

Swimming pool, photo by Gabriel Robledo, Capital Federal, Argentina, clean poolA pool can be kept clean and enjoyable with certain simple equipment such as a pool filter for which you need a good pool filter cover. That way you can have a pool that not only provides a great activity and exercise but also makes your yard more attractive, adding value to your home. It’s important that you choose the right pool filter cover to make sure you get good pool maintenance. The best pool filter cover is one that has full width mesh back with ventilation for safety.

Ted, an accountant, knew that to stay healthy he needed to eat well and keep exercising as part of his daily routine. He had a great pool installed in his yard and everyone used it. Ted worked long hours so the pool maintenance needed to be efficient. As he believed in doing this himself, the job was made easy by having a good pool filter cover to keep everything working well. His morning swims were the best choice he had made for his health and fitness, apart from his choice of pool filter cover.

You can DIY your pool filter cover because it comes in a transportable easy to assemble kit form.

Garden equipment storage

hinged-door.jpgIt’s time I wrote about the simple steel garden shed, which is used for garden equipment storage. Things like a pick and shovel, wheelbarrow, lawnmower and other garden tools. A place where you can also keep bags of fertiliser and anything useful for beautifying your garden. It may be a simple shed but it is quite attractive in mist green or any other colour. What’s more, its weatherproof because of the wraparound corners.

Mila loved gardening and her toddler, Gena, enjoyed playing in the sandpit. It was safer to keep all the garden equipment in a garden shed away from the inquisitive hands of Gena and protected from the weather. Every day Mila spent a few hours gardening and friends suggested that she enter the amazing results in gardening competitions. Before long her garden appeared in gardening magazines. Her garden shed held many of the secrets of her success.

Garden sheds are fairly easy to put together and most people prefer to DIY even though they can be assembled for you by the shed dealer.

Workshop

Tools, photo by Juri Staikov, Sofia Bulgaria, quality toolsTools set up like this show serious work. Not hit and miss but serious stuff. Even if it’s a hobby, having the right tools in some sort of order determines the quality of the work. It is so important to have a decent workshop and tools to create or repair things. A steel shed can make the ideal workshop with shelves, windows and skylight. It can be either DIY or it can be assembled by the shed dealer.

Steven had every conceivable tool and they all had their place, making it easy for him to put his hands on whatever he needed. He repaired electrical things but he could fix most appliances and he also worked on cars. He installed a garden shed and moved in all his gear from the garage where everyone touched them. He was happy with his workshop and the garage was used by the family leaving his tools alone.

Such a workshop is also weatherproof and the added benefit is that it locks up. What more would you need?

Boat shed

Boats, photo by Julian Hubbard, Leicester, United Kingdom, fishing boatsFishing is a popular pastime and having a boat to go out in is best. People who live by the sea will find it much easier to keep a boat, although it lasts longer if it’s kept in a boat shed. However, those living in the city use their garages to store their boats. This means there is less room for their cars. You can get yourself a lock up boat shed installed in your yard which is weatherproof and comes in coloured steel with a concrete slab flooring.

Patrick, a retired developer, lives in the country by a lake and loves his fishing.  He has travelled all over the world game fishing, trout fishing and even fishing off a wharf, that’s how much he loves fishing. He got himself a small boat that he can use in the local lake but in his garage he has the car, the van and a motorbike (another hobby). So he got himself a garden shed and assembled it near his garage. That’s where he keeps his boat, trailer and fishing gear.

These multi-purpose garden sheds are great for storing anything and everything, whatever the size. They are affordable and attractive for your yard.

A shed for the car

Filed under: Sheds — Garden Shed Gal at 9:10 pm on Monday, December 4, 2006

garage1.jpgWhat a great solution for your car. You may have a garage but your family has more cars than can fit in it. Or your home does not have a garage and the carport does not keep your car protected from the weather. Whichever the situation, a shed for the car like this one is ideal and it’s easy to assemble if you DIY or you can have it assembled for you.

Alex, owned a beautiful vintage car. He spent a lot of time keeping it in its immaculate condition which he took pride in showing off during a rally. The only problem was that the family weren’t that careful when using the garage and over the years accidents happened. Then Alex had a shed installed which was just the right size for his car and from then on it was protected.

A shed like this is assembled with a concrete slab flooring and is weatherproof. It also locks up so this is ideal for your car, boat or whatever you choose to store in it.

Hobby business

Sewing Machine, photo by Dieter Joel Jagnow, Porto Alegre, Brazil, home businessWhether a tailor or a dressmaker, some people enjoy a hobby business. This is a small scale business carried out in the home. A workshop set up in the backyard can make such an activity possible, leaving everything untouched and locked up until the person can do more work. A workshop garden shed comes in different sizes and there are colours to choose from that match the landscape. The shed dealer can assemble the shed for you, or you can DIY.

Gina was married to Lance, a successful tradesman and who insisted on supporting his family, so she didn’t need to go out to work. This was good for her but she found that household duties and gardening took up just so much of her time and then there was nothing to do. A talented person, she taught herself dress design and sewing among other things. Practising on friends created a reputation for her and in time people wanted her to make their clothes. She could look at a picture in a magazine and create it to fit any size person. When people gave her money as a gift for her efforts she would use it to help children in need. Sewing gave her much satisfaction and having her own workshop to keep everything ready added to the enjoyment.

A hobby workshop can have windows and shelving. A gabled roof also provides ventilation. Wraparound corners make these sheds weatherproof and some manufacturers give a 10yr warranty (conditions apply).
