A garden shed for bikes

A garden shed has many uses, we know. One important use is storing your tools and equipment, like the lawnmower.

But think of another important use apart from that – storing your bikes.  Families have more than one good bike nowadays.  Especially with the emphasis on exercise for the whole family.  For example, you often see families riding together in Centennial Park.

I know a family who has four bikes – an expensive good quality bike for each member of the family. The mother belongs to a group of bike riders who often ride to Wollongong and back.  They take their hobby seriously.  The father likes going riding close to home early in the morning before he leaves for work – keeps him fit.  The children ride their bikes to school – the benefits of living in the outer suburbs of a city.  On weekends they ride together whenever they can.  In the meantime their valuable bicycles are kept in good condition and stored in their attractive garden shed which protects their expensive bikes.

Imagine what else you could do with your garden shed.

Garden shed shelving

Your garden shed can be made a better space saver with shelving. Whether you use your shed for storage or as a workshop, shelving can be a huge advantage.

There are two types of shelving and are easy to install.

1. Corner shelves come in either single or a set of 3, in galvanized steel and in different sizes.

2. Hammerfast shelving units are called that because a hammer can be used for assembly. That is, no nuts and bolts are necessary.

Another important thing is that these shelves can be adjusted to whatever height is required. Having shelves in your garden shed will also make it best to store stuff that needs to be kept up high in a safe place until it is used.

Utility Sheds

Have you thought about having a utility shed to store your vehicle, boat or trailer? It’s an economical option, quite affordable.

There is enough room for a four wheel drive or a boat if you get the large size – 2.25m. Also there is a smaller size – 2.03m.

Think about such benefits as being a safe storage option as well a shed that’s easy to install or even having it installed for you.A great space saver and weatherproof, the utility shed can be used for other items such as equipment or light machinery.

Worth looking into.

Garden sheds with windows

Did you know that you can have windows or a skylight in your garden shed? Having a window fitted in a shed is made easy by replacing a panel.

This can complement your existing or new garden shed. That way you get natural light in the shed. Just make sure you choose the panel that lets in light but not too much sun, unless that is what you specifically need for your shed.

Having a Perspex window is ideal for your garden shed whether you use it as a workshop or for storage. Having natural light makes using the shed much easier and more enjoyable.

A family I know used their garden shed for storage. They had a Perspex window fitted and whenever they needed to rummage through their boxes, and perhaps reorganise stuff, it was easy to work in the natural light. In the corner of the shed they had a small table and chair, so they could use that space for also taking care of paperwork in peace, if necessary.

Check it out, if you’re needing a new storage shed or you have an existing shed, you can add a Perpex window and that makes all the difference.
